Understanding Hearing Loss...
DeafHear’s Hearing Aid Service

About DeafHear’s Hearing Aid ServiceFrom the moment we wake up in the morning to the time we go to sleep at night , sound and communication play a central role in our lives. Communication keeps us socially connected to family, friends, work colleagues and society.

But, especially as we get older, many of us begin to experience hearing problems which can impact on our communication with others. At DeafHear we have many years of experience supporting people who are socially isolated due to deafness and hearing loss.

We know that the key problem arising for people who acquire a hearing loss is the impact on communication and the loss of social connectivity.

DeafHear’s not-for-profit quality hearing aid service, focussed on keeping you socially connected so you can live life to the full. We know that fitting high quality modern digital hearing aids is the single most effective treatment for people with hearing loss. One in six people have some level of hearing loss, and at least 8% of Irish adults, that’s over 270,000 people, need hearing aids to communicate easily.

If you are a medical card holder, contact your local HSE Health Centre, as you are entitled to a free audiology service, including hearing aids, if required.
